Bernard. I’ll miss you. I knew him I the Uk before he left for oz. We’ve always kept in touch and been together in Oz the uk and in France where I now live for 43 years. The old number 10 one of his songs was based on his local the Derby Arms in Rainford where we met and sang in the snug every Thursday back in the 60´s.
I met Bernard in 1968 just before coming to Australia. Five months later he came to Australia and we spent twelve glorious years together.
We parted but always remained friends.
He was intelligent, humerus, kind and we were “chums” for 56 years

My dear old Chum – so sad to hear of your moving on just a few minutes ago. We shared many a wry smile over the years despite the distance separating us. Happy memories of sharing the stage with you in Alice and elsewhere and putting the world to rights over a glass or three between sets. You always seemed to make the absolute most of life and I suppose we can’t ask for much more. Thanks for letting me share a bit of all your fun. Bon voyage Bernard.
